To ensure continued motivation for learning, it is essential to create the conditions necessary for all learners to reach their full potential and be successful. We know that all learners are unique. This workshop will present teaching strategies based on the learning objectives, skills and interests of the learners in order to promote their success.

About the Facilitator

Léo-James Lévesque  est professeur adjoint avec la School of Education de St. Thomas University, à Fredericton, au Nouveau-Brunswick, Canada. Il compte plus de 30 années d'enseignement de la langue française dans les programmes d'immersion. Expert en littératie, Léo-James a pour mission de transmettre le goût de lire et d'écrire aux enfants. Il a participé à la conception et à l'élaboration de plusieurs ressources pédagogiques. Il est notamment l'auteur de plusieurs livres de littérature jeunesse. Léo-James a reçu le prix d'excellence André-Obadia de l'Association canadienne des professionnels d'immersion pour sa contribution exceptionnelle à la promotion de l'apprentissage du français au Canada. Léo-James est également lauréat de la Bourse Hilroy de la Fédération des enseignants et enseignantes francophones du Canada pour souligner son innovation pédagogique. De plus, Léo-James a été sélectionné comme récipiendaire du prix de membre honoraire à vie par l’Association canadienne des professeurs de langues secondes, pour sa contribution à l’avancement de l’enseignement des langues secondes tout au long de sa brillante carrière.


Léo-James Lévesque  is an Assistant Professor with the School of Education at St. Thomas University, in Fredericton, New Brunswick. He has more than 30 years of teaching experience in immersion programs. An expert in literacy, Léo-James' mission is to share his joy of reading and writing to children. He has published several educational resources which are used across Canada. He has authored several children's books. Léo-James received the André-Obadia Award of Excellence from the Canadian Association of Immersion Professionals for his exceptional contribution to the promotion of French learning in Canada. Furthermore, Léo-James is a recipient of the Hilroy Fellowship Award presented to him by the Federation of Francophone Teachers of Canada to highlight his innovation in education. Léo-James is also a recipient of the Honorary Lifetime Membership Award presented to him by the Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers to highlight his contribution to the advancement of second language education through his distinguished career.
