Calling all French Immersion teachers! You are invited to join us for a 3-part series designed to refresh your French language skills, give you some new ideas for infusing French culture and explore engaging language activities to use with your class.

Le but de cette série est de vivre en français, d’approfondir vos habiletés langagières et de partir avec une banque d’idées pour la salle de classe. mercredi le 16 mars - Juste pour s’amuser - 17h30-19h30 - On s’accueille, on se détend, on rigole, on participe dans des groupes collaboratifs et on fait de l’improvisation, tout en français. lundi le 18 avril - 9h à 3h - Jeux de mots - On s’amuse avec des anglicismes, des chansons, le théâtre des lecteurs, des expressions idiomatiques et des jeux mai (on attend la date précise des organisateurs du festival) - Souper et Activité culturelle: Comic Book Festival, Alliance Française

About the Facilitator
Sherri Johnston has been a teacher for over 20 years. She has her M.Ed. in Elementary Literacy and is passionate about reading. She served as a district literacy consultant in Elk Island Public Schools for ten years where she supported both English and French Language Arts teachers. Sherri has taught all subjects, Grades 4 – 9, including three years as a teacher-librarian. She is currently on secondment with the Edmonton Regional Learning Consortium and is pleased to support K-12 Literacy.
Carmen Mykula taught French Immersion Grades 1-6 for a number of years. She also had the opportunity to work with Parkland School Division as a Second Language Consultant and in that role, she was able to provide much needed support to her immersion colleagues. Carmen retired from teaching but continues to support teachers of French in the province. Currently, she is a Bilingual Education Consultant for the Edmonton Regional Learning Consortium.
