About this Learning Opportunity

Professional learning support, at the district level is a critical component of the induction of new teachers into the profession. You will have the opportunity to further develop your effectiveness as a teacher through time for learning, collaboration and reflection.

By the end of the session, you will have explored concepts such as: fixed and growth mindsets along with core principles of effective teaching practices. You will explore strategies for supporting diverse needs of learners through such approaches as Universal Design for Learning and Differentiated Instruction (essential instructional components, scaffolding instruction, effective supports and assistive technology.)

You will work both in grade level and cross-grade level task groups.

This learning opportunity is being provided through funding from Alberta Education.

About the Facilitator

Louise Osland has been an educator for over 40 years and prior to joining Edmonton Regional Learning Consortium, she worked as a principal and supervisor with Edmonton Public Schools. She has led AISI projects, managed teams, facilitated sessions and collaborated with colleagues.
