About this Learning Opportunity
Come and see how Alberta's new curriculum is incorporated into the digital world of resources! Each child learns in unique ways, from different learning speeds, to different learning styles. By providing the right question at the right time we are able to let every child follow their own learning pathway. By providing a learning environment where children are able to take ownership of their learning, we not only foster independence, but also ensure that, whatever their learning needs, children can approach each question in a way that suits their ability. For example: The first definition of multiplication that children encounter is as repeated addition. At this point, students should be proficient in understanding and executing summation (within a limited range of numbers and addends). Effective and informative wrong answer feedback simplifies the visuals provided to enforced this meaning. Some children will be ready to lump into thinking about multiplication, while others will still need to rely on counting. Both are possible with the visuals and resources provided, allowing children to follow their own journey.
