This session will focus on classroom management as students take pride in cross curricular assignments. Resources provided to use in the class that make your students excited to learn a new topic. See how questions to help bridge the transition from concrete to abstract, by using technology to allow children to engage with material. Add a fun activity with the resources provided and get students away from their desks to demonstrate how to visually understand what it means to be looking for various angles. With no standard algorithm to use, students are required to sharpen their problem solving skills. See how by providing intrinsic feedback for wrong answers allow for freedom to fail and also provide the effective and informative feedback students require to progress.

About the Facilitator
Krista Plumb
Krista Plumb has been in Education for over 10 years, and has enjoyed her experience as a
teacher. Her passion and love for math began long ago and she is now dedicated to removing
the anxiety that surrounds students in elementary classrooms by making it fun and engaging.
Krista is in her 3rd year with Matific, and is the Senior Educational Consultant for Canada, with
the focus being Alberta. In her spare time she enjoys skiing, horseback riding, running and
spending time with her two amazing children.
