About this Learning Opportunity

In this session Angela Dearing will demystify computer science and show you how easy it can be to implement in your classroom. We will begin by looking at the necessary concepts from Division 1 that your students will need to be successful with the Computer Science organizing idea at your grade level. Then we will dive into the 4-6 curriculum and look at practical ways you can cover the KUSPs independently and throughout your other subject areas and organizing ideas. You will learn how computational and design thinking can be applied throughout your days to allow your students many opportunities to make connections to what they are learning in computer science. Finally we will look at some launch activities that you can take and use right away to cover gaps and introduce Computer Science to your students.
