About this Learning Opportunity
As Language Arts teachers we are often driven by the same enduring question: How might we design and scaffold learning experiences that help to develop critical and creative thinkers who can take ownership of their learning? In the writing classroom, this question is even more pivotal!
This session will explore some of the ways we might:
-reframe the feedback cycle such that we gradually shift the cognitive load to our students
-facilitate conversations that are meditative in nature rather than solely prescriptive
-scaffold peer feedback protocols to build student agency throughout the writing and revision process rather than at the end as part of an exercise on editing

- 2. Modeling Commitment to Professional Learning
- 4. Leading a Learning Community
This session addresses the TQS competencies
- 2. Engaging in Career-Long Learning
- 3. Demonstrating a Professional Body of Knowledge
