About this Learning Opportunity
Come and join us in the journey of unpacking and learning the Organizing Ideas that form your new Grade 5 Science Program. The sessions will begin with an Introductory video outlining the key documents you will need as well as an explanation of how each of the sessions will be designed inclusive of concepts, computer science, scientific method, assessment and sample unit designs and resources.
The Introductory video will be the same for all grades and must be previewed before your grade’s Session 2 begins. Embedded in the Introductory video will be a mini presentation on Computer Science addressing definitions, a quick curriculum tour and a fail safe method that reveals how you may already be teaching computational thinking? You will further explore the Computing Science concepts through a second video titled “Wait! What? I Have to Teach Computer Science?” to watch to assist in understanding how Computer Science will be integrated into the units.
