About this Learning Opportunity
Whether you are new to the French language or want to improve your skills, learn French with Alliance Française of Edmonton! Classes are tailored for teachers with a focus on language used in the classroom (vocabulary, grammar, phonetics and speech acts in the lexical field of education).
What you will learn:
- Describe a colleague, a student
- Talk about past and current events
- Give advice to a colleague or a student
- Describe a place (your school, your classroom...)
- Talk about the weather and seasons
- Express emotions and feelings
Grammar: past tense, adjectives for description and their place in the sentence, imperative, future tense...
Unsure of your level?
- Self-assess your language proficiency with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) self-assessment grid *Note that it is common to be at different levels in different language skill areas. For example, you may assess your oral production skills at a B1 level and your oral interaction skills at an A2 level.
- Enrol in the class level that corresponds to the lowest level of your self-assessment.

About the Facilitator
Founded in 1947 by Paulette Crévolin, the Alliance française of Edmonton is a non-profit organization, part of the Alliance française network around the globe. The alliances françaises’ main goals are to promote the French language, francophone cultures and to support intercultural exchanges. They are present in 143 countries with over 800 centers. We self-finance thanks to our classes, the support of our members, donations and various grants
