About this learning opportunity

Help ALL learners better engage in reading and writing supports at hand when needed.  Read & Write for Google Chrome is a tool that is much more than "text to speech" and "speech to text".  Whether you are workking with Google Docs and Slides, with websites, or with PDF's, and whether you're reading (or writing) a text, or deep diving into the ideas within that text, you'll find rich tools within this software that you'll want to use with students--and even yourself as you work with them--to support their literacy learning journey across all grades and subject areas.

All learning opportunities with the ERLC regional team will focus on the Alberta Education and district priority areas.

This learning opportunity is being subsidized through funding from Alberta Education.

About the facilitator(s)

An English teacher originally, Janet's career evolved over the years from classroom consultant, co-leading edtech integration across the province as a member of the 2Learn.ca and ARPDC provincial teams, to school and district leadership as the Department Head at Lillian Osborne High School and TIPS (Technology Integration and Planning Supports) Consultant with Edmonton Public Schools. A Google Certified Trainer and SMART Certified Trainer, these days Janet brings both vision and practical strategies to help support your integration of G Suite and SMART Learning Suite, reputable third-party applications, makerspaces, digital citizenship and more, within today's emergent and shifting learning spaces. In her spare time, she enjoys the four generations of her family.
