Learn about digital technology and distance learning:

The objective of this series of online workshops is to offer Francophone education stakeholders in Alberta a series of strategies, derived from research, both to tame digital technology, and also to help them get off to a good start. manage the school remotely, in a context of confinement or not. Through these five online workshops, there are more than 60 educational avenueswhich will be offered to participants, all grouped into categories, and which it is imperative to think about when integrating digital or when moving from the classroom… to online school. The idea of this series of workshops is above all to help the actors of Francophone education in Alberta to make judicious use of digital technology, to overcome distance when students are not present, and to allow them to quickly learn distance training, without improvising.

WORKSHOP 3: The choice of technological tools to facilitate teaching and increase learning

This third workshop will focus on the choice of technological tools to facilitate teaching and increase learning. It will be a question of choosing the right technological tools, according to the educational intentions. Most of the tools presented will be free to ensure that all learners can access them.

About the Facilitator

Thierry karsenti

Professor at the University of Montreal, Faculty of Educational Sciences. Holder of the Canada Research Chair in Educational Technologies. 

Thierry Karsenti's achievements and technopedagogical innovations in open or distance training have been recognized both provincially and nationally. It is also distinguished by the contribution of its research activities to the quality of university teaching. His research interests focus on the pedagogical integration of new technologies, the teaching practices of teachers, open and distance training, and motivation.

The various projects with international influence in which Professor Karsenti participates include his professional activities in a vast international network where information and communication technologies and open and distance training become a priority for education.
