This session will be an open format, allowing for participants to freely ask questions and work together to discover the answers.

Examples of questions might be: 

Why do teachers need to understand this work? 

How can leaders support teachers in developing conceptual understanding in the classroom?

How does teaching conceptual understanding impact unit and lesson planning?

What assessment practices compliment concept based learning?

About the facilitator(s)

Michele is the Curriculum Education consultant for the consortia. She has taught a wide variety of subjects  and has taught in divisions 1, 2 and 3. She has led numerous professional learning opportunities, at the school, district level and provincial level. Michele holds a Master's of Education degree in the area of Educational Leadership. She is also a certified Google Educator. She is passionate about all things that support our Alberta student and adult learners in today’s fast-paced world.
