About this learning opportunity

The Edmonton Regional Learning Consortium (ERLC) is proud to once again facilitate an exciting and engaging Community of Practice (CoP) for leaders - principals, assistant principals and those aspiring to a leadership position. If you a new to your leadership position, will be opening a new school, or wish to learn more about how to enhance your leadership in your current position, this series is for you! You will have the opportunity to observe a range of exemplary leaders in action, as well as engage in small group, practical and meaningful dialogue with CoP members.  This is a learning series that you can not miss.

Details

  • The series will begin with a half day orientation session on October 23, 2018, followed up with four half-day visits to Edmonton area schools (a combination of elementary, junior high, and high schools).
  • At each school, you will engage in a variety of processes and activities, such as: short presentation by the leader(s) of the school, guided tour of the school, focused dialogue/Q&A with the school leader(s); connecting evidence of leadership to the competencies in the Leadership Quality Standard; review current literature and research; share artifacts, discuss/reflect on your implementation of the leadership ideas shared.
  • As part of this series, you will be asked to ‘try’ at least one leadership idea or strategy at  your own school and share your experience at a celebration of learning on our final day together.
  • Note: Our final day will begin at 9:00 a.m. to provide time for celebration, sharing and learning from each other.

This session is being offered on a cost recovery basis.
