About this learning opportunity

Behaviour challenges in schools can interfere with learning, instruction and positive school climate. This half-day workshop, based on current research and best practices, will provide you with information, strategies and tools for systematically teaching, supporting and reinforcing positive behaviour.

This workshop will explore practical communication strategies to:

  • effectively deal with everyday behaviour challenges
  • reduce power struggles and learned helplessness
  • reinforce desired behaviour and mutual respect and responsibility 

This learning opportunity is being provided through funding from Alberta Education.

About the facilitator(s)

Sandra Gluth is a creative and solution-focused educator and facilitator with a passion for making learning relevant and engaging for each and every student - and each and every educator! She spent many years as a teacher and consultant with Edmonton Public Schools where she was able to combine her passion for teaching with the use of technology to support literacy learning for students, including those with diverse learning needs.

Currently, Sandra designs and facilitates professional learning for teachers and school leaders across Alberta and in the province of Quebec, focusing on universal design for learning, differentiated instruction, creating inclusive learning environments, and meaningful literacy and numeracy instruction for students with significant disabilities.
