Target Audience

Teachers, SLPs, Para-educators and teams who serve children and youth with complex communication needs. Additional team members including OTs, Administrators, Assistive Technology Staff and Parents of students who have communication systems are encouraged to attend.

About this learning opportunity

This webinar highlights meaning-making in AAC interactions by describing engagement and participation as essential components of the process. Cognitive as well as affective aspects of engagement will be described and illustrated by using video material of interactions between AAC users and typical communicators. Guidelines for intervention will be provided.
