About the Facilitator

Shelby LaFramboise - Helgeson has been a teacher since 1999. She has a master’s thesis in the area of language and literacy and is especially passionate about indigenous perspectives in Canadian curriculum. Shelby was a research assistant during her graduate work on a project titled, Engaging Teachers with Canadian Literature for Social Justice. She has taught with Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools, Edmonton Catholic Schools and is currently on secondment from Elk Island Catholic Schools. Shelby is honored to be part of a provincial initiative called Education for Reconciliation.
