Who should attend
Junior and Senior High Teachers starting a Computer Technology (CT) oriented program in their schools.
About this learning opportunity
Junior High teachers will explore how the Career and Technology Foundations (CTF) program could be used to offer a computer technology oriented option and Senior High teachers will develop an Intro/Intermediate level Computer Science Education (CSE) pathway.
The expectation is that Junior High teachers will work with the Scratch programming environment, the Google Sites web hosting portal and/or the Google Sketch-up design environment while Senior High teachers will work with Scratch, App Inventor, HTML5/JavaScript and/or the Python programming environment.
Day One:
An brief overview of the CTF and CSE curricula and a look at a "start-up" CSE pathway and a set of "get started" CTF projects
A walk thru of some of the available resources
Day Two:
Participants modify the CSE pathway or CTF project list to reflect their school environment
Participants develop their pathway or project list by working with the resources of their choice
