About this learning opportunity

This 2 day hands-on workshop will introduce you to Levelled Literacy Intervention designed by Gay Su Pinnell & Irene Fountas. LLI is a small group intervention for K-3 at risk students, as well as English Language Learners. During this first day, you will have an opportunity to become familiar with the theory, go through the getting started, even and odd lessons as well as the other materials provided in the LLI Systems.  Day 2 in October will be a follow up session, reviewing the application of the system once you have had an opportunity to work with LLI in your classroom.  In this session we will clarify procedures, lessons and using reading records to inform instruction. You will also have an opportunity to refine your delivery and understanding of LLI.

Please bring you Teacher Resource Box from the LLI System to this session.

Taking Reading Records- August 24, 2012

This one day hands-on workshop will provide you with the opportunity to learn (or refine) the skill of taking and analyzing reading records.  Taking Reading Records is an integral part of Levelled Literacy Intervention, therefore LLI teachers would benefit from attending this session. This authentic assessment informs instruction, and documents change over time in a student’s reading.

A special rate has been arranged with the Fantasyland Hotel and Conference Centre for our out of town attendees. Upon your registration, the booking information will be sent to you as part of your confirmation receipt.

This learning opportunity is subsidized as a result of a grant from Alberta Education to support implementation.
