Literacy has always been used to communicate stories,events, song and ideas in First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities. Literacy has traditionally empowered the spirit by affirming the uniqueness of First Nations, Métis and Inuit cultures and the interconnectedness of all aspects of creation. As part of a life-long path of learning, First Nations, Métis and Inuit literacy and numeracy contribute to the development of self-knowledge and personal success.

Over these two days you will have the opportunity to:

• Expand your understanding of literacy and numeracy practices from First Nations, Métis and Inuit perspectives
