About this learning opportunity

This session focuses on:

TPK (Technological Pedagogical Knowledge) - How to use the technology effectively, i.e. what are these tools and how can I use them to engage students in deeper learning?

Explore a variety of engaging online resources and tools that will add zing to your Notebook lessons, packaging activities in advance within your customized Notebook theme, while providing you with the opportunity in class to assist students in learning and demonstrating their learning.

Learn how to use blogging tools such as Blogger, Wallwisher, Edmodo, Twitter and Edublog.  Have your students collaborate on group projects using wikis.  Learn how using visualization tools such as Animoto, Wordle and Tag Galaxy can improve student understanding of the visual media. Learn how iPod and iPad apps place these tools into your students' hands with ease.

Then, design a lesson using Notebook software, using a personalized theme that reflects your style and content, which integrates use of the Web 2.0 tools we've played with over the course of the day.

By the end of the day you will have created a year plan that integrates specific Web 2.0 tools into lessons and particular units of study using advanced features of Notebook software.

This learning opportunity is subsidized as a result of a grant from Alberta Education to support implementation and will model technology integration in the core subject areas.
