Inquiry requires a complex set of knowledge and skills. What instructional strategies do teachers need to scaffold learning during inquiry units?  How can teachers interact with students to support and encourage literacy skill development while learning content area knowledge and skills?

Two teachers from Elk Island Public School District explored an inquiry unit on the preservation and conservation of water. They examined how to frame questions that inspire investigations, promote curiosity, and create projects that students can further explore and research.
