ERLC Support for Mathematics Implementation
In collaboration with: Alberta Education, district representatives on the ERLC advisory committee, other regional professional development consortia across Alberta and organizations such as the Alberta Assessment Consortium (AAC) and the Math Council of the ATA (MCATA), the Edmonton Regional Learning Consortium provides support for implementation of new curriculum and initiatives across the region. Implementation supports are characterized by choice and variety to provide for the greatest possible accessibility.
What types of implementation supports are available?
Learning opportunities include supper sessions, multi-day planning cohorts, videoconferences, webinars and full day sessions. Presenters represent local expertise as well as internationally renowned speakers such as Dr. Marian Small, Cathy Fosnot and Dan Meyer. The ERLC website is updated regularly and if you wish to receive updates weekly please subscribe to the ERLC Mailing List.
Short for web-based seminar, a webinar is a presentation or workshop that is transmitted over the web. You can access a webinar via your own computer. When we distribute Professional Learning (DPL) using webinars and videoconferencing we hear you say they are convenient for access and cost-effective. We are also hearing that access to archived webinars via the PD resources link is another alternative to accessing learning from your own space, pace and time.
Each district in the region has access to 3 District Days from the ERLC Math Regional Team. The use of District Days is organized by the district contact or curriculum coordinator for your jurisdiction.
Institutes to support implementation of the senior high mathematics curriculum are held twice yearly in January and June. Watch for information coming soon on the June 2011 Institute.
